Why we built

Do you remember the first time you looked out an airplane window?

We do. It felt like magic, in every sense of the word. As a kid you ride trains, buses, cars—but lifting off the runway is something else entirely. And, maybe like you, we were hooked from that very first climb.

Sadly, as these stories tend to go, the magic wears off as you get older. Flying turns into a chore. Delays appear out of thin air, your gate moves 20 minutes before boarding (and nobody tells you until you hear it over the speakers). While the kids at the window watch the planes taxi, you’re hurrying to the nearest departure board to check you’re at the right gate and that your flight is still on time.

We’re aviation geeks at heart. We built Wayfarer so that we, and every other traveler out there, could fall back in love with flying. So our trips could run smoother—with everything we care about right in the palm of our hand, or a glance away on our wrist. Not left to a flickering departure board or a late text message.

We sweat the small stuff: cockpit-grade data, alerts that arrive at exactly the right moment, and design we’re proud of (it’s why our Watch App was picked as a store favorite in its first year).
